Estrie, Quebec · grown from African seeds
Global Roots Canada is a family micro-farm growing the greens, vegetables, peppers and herbs at the heart of African kitchens — raised from seeds we carry from Africa, and harvested down the road instead of shipped across an ocean.
For too long, the vegetables at the heart of African cooking have meant long supply chains: expensive, inconsistent, often frozen, and days past fresh by the time they arrive. We grow them here in the Estrie instead — from authentic African seeds, picked at their peak, and traceable to our field.
Harvested to order, not flown in green and ripened in transit. You taste it in a leaf of amaranth or a hot pepper picked the same week.
The specific crops African kitchens call for — real varieties grown from seeds sourced in Africa, by their real names, not a supermarket substitute.
A family farm with a scientific eye — one of us brings a background in science to how these crops are cared for, so African varieties truly thrive in Quebec soil.
